The City That Never Sleeps
So this is my new gar, he is approximately 4 inches long and I speculate him to be either a florida, spotted, or a long nose gar. However, it is quite possible that he is a hybird and I've heard alligator as well as tropical gar. I bought him today and here is the badboy

Within minutes after being introduced into his new pond, he devoured a minnow that is 1 1/10 of an inch long. He himself is only 4 inches in length. I can't wait to see the little guy grow bigger. I'll move him into his 40 gallon long aquarium once he gets to be 8 inches long or so. The little guy is pretty active and is always swimming around, he is a great little monster.

congrats man ...

Wow, very tiny.

Yeah, but he is a monster. He has chlorine poisoning but still ate. I think that is a testament to the innermonster within LOL.

why would it have chlorine poisoning? They are very hardy fish, but you should definitely invest in a bottle of Prime.

^^ that is not a Hujeta

Yeah, they are definitely hardy. He is only 4 inches long but downed a 1 1/10 inch minnow. He tried eating another that was about 3/5 inch long but he couldn't down it and he just killed that fish. I actually had to remove the feeders. When I was keeping flowerhorn cichlids, I just left each one with 10 feeder fish and when the tank is empty, I'd refill it. With this guy, he is just too voracious. I'm really hopeful that he makes it and to be honest, I'm really shocked he survived since he was in 10 hours of tap water. He even ate!!!!! I'm loving the gars LOL.
