I have 2 BP's at the mo in my mixed tank, i have read alot about these being one of the following...

Midas x Red Head Vieja
Midas x Convict

And less believable

Midas x Severum

Am i the only one thinking that these guys are literally just Baloon/short bodied Midas or Midas x Red Devil short bodied hybrids?

To me there is nothing that says Vieja or Severum about them, and the colour seems solely Midas/Red Devil

Whats your thoughts?
 
What makes you think that tho? (other than being told/read)
 
Someone here on M.F.K. made that cross, and that is what they ended up with, and also this is what the breeders over seas are saying too.

What exactly doesn't make any sense ? That Viega, and Cichlasoma can cross. That if a Midas, or Red Devil cross bread with another Cichlid that you might get a fader. Talk to the F.H. guys about that. If it was just a retarded Midas then Why the sterility issues ?
Short body fish can breed just like any other fish, and if injections caused the fertility issues then why is it when you cross a Female Parrot with another Cichlid the offspring has fertility issues also ? Why don't you question F.H. next, maybe that doesn't make any sense to you also. I read the article that you are waiving in everyone's faces a long time ago, and disregarded it because it doesn't make any sense. No one is commenting on this thread because they don't agree with you, and they don't want to argue about it.
