I've talked with a few members on here and we agreed that it would be fun to do a different species each month. Basically draw out of a hat and can't be repeated til end of the year. So this month or what's left is dedicated to Festae:) so all you festae keepers out there lets see what you got:)- and picture taking skills isn't mandatory but is nice.this isn't a contest although it could have been, so no losers just Beautiful fish and happy owners. And I hope this has a decent turn out so we can continue with another species in September. Thank you to all who participate.

Dude she is on FIRE! :) excellent pair. That males a beast too. What are you feeding them? Any tankmates? Now I miss my pair:( that's right I sold them...

Tankmates.. OK I totally spaced it for a second LOL.you still have the atros and ornatus with them right? Anything else other than SD's? Looks like bocourti in background.

I might also add, what are the water parameters, diet, tankmates and any other info that may have aided in the successful keepings of everyone's festae. I would like to gain a better understanding of festae and what seems like the best way to achieve outstanding results:)

Balton, I love that pair of yours. The depth of colour in the female is absolutely amazing.

Great idea Freshwaterpredators. Here is my guy who resides in the 800g with a ph of 7.4-7.6, tank temp kept at 26 degrees Celcius. That's 79 degrees Fahrenheit for those unaware of the pure awesomeness of the metric system:D Nitrates are kept as low as possible with at least 40% weekly water changes.
80% of his diet consists of Hikari gold and massivore. The remaining 20% consists of raw prawns/shrimp,fish fillets, mealworms and earth worms.
Tankmates at present are 1 x jag, 1 x bocourti, 1 x pearsei, 1 x gold saum, 1 x midas.

This is my favourite shot of him.:)

I threw this one in so you can see just how much green he displays.
