Hello everyone!
I introduced myself last night and promised pictures once I returned home to Maryland but I realized that even poor quality Iphone pictures are better than none! So here it is, my current build project and of course I will update as I go along. Take it easy on me, I have never uploaded anything to a forum so this may get shaky!

Long story short... bought a 60 gallon tall, populated it then started to realize that my fish deserved better. Ordered an acrylic custom from Jeff Haddock (awesome guy) and built it to cater to the clown loaches. Realized that the 60 gallon would make a great sump and the saga ensues....

Hope you enjoy my journey!

Building my 8' stand! This is the frame just before I completed the joists.

New cabinet to hold the 40 gallon long. I wanted to make this one an Iwagumi (sp?) tank complete with sump. Problem was, the sump (29 gallon tall) wouldn't fit. The bonus is that now both my stands are identical and built by me http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ripping the guts out of the 8' stand and installing the 60 gallon sump. The sump isn't finished yet and won't be until I get back to Maryland.... I know, the suspense is killing me too! http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

And of course the UV sterilizers, heaters, PH probe etc will all end up in the sump once it is finished.
I agree with you all that the 40 looked nice in the cabinet. However, it was really hard to clean and I really wanted to get a sump in there. I actually plan on doing a thread just for my filtration later down the road. It is overkill to say the least. (edit) I ask myself, I say "self, is it possible to have too much filtration?" And of course the answer is no. I will keep you all posted on THAT project soon....

P.S.
This seems simple but could someone tell me how to edit my posts so that I can clean them up a bit?

it says edit right next to quote, quick reply. it goes away after a while tho
