Homeowner started this pond several weeks ago. Steel work and rough cement work already done. They called me to install a filter system for kois. Unfortunately I had the concrete guy chip out the whole pond because it was not done right for kois. As you can see they had to re-dig the pond and all the steel work is still hanging.

The rock work is to be done with fiberglass reinforced casted cement (Ledger rock pattern). Owner would like it energy efficient so low amp pumps will be incorporated to match the pipe and filter for best flow. Also as part of their green efforts they want the backflush water to be collected in a gray water storage tank. 15 feet waterfall will only run a few hours a day or for entertainment only due to stuffy neighbors that like to complain.

dang! if only I had the money for that!

nice... I sure hope you didn't have to do the digging yourself.. that looks miserable. Sure would have been nice to be able to have a small back hoe in there to dig it out. But I guess with the rebar in there it could have been a problem. Maybe just break the concrete up first then come back with the back hoe. Forget that much shoveling!

Keep us updated on the project, looks like it has a pretty good start so far.

What other areation is going in?

Why not lower the waterfall height is neighbors suck?

Rock work has started.

Filteration is not under the fall. It will be up against the garage where power can be routed.
The equipment came in yesterday. 1/4HP and two 1/2HP pumps, stainless steel UV. 6 cu ft of bead media, drain covers, skimmer. I'm going to put the filter together tomorrow and layout the stub outs so the filter slab can be poured.

really looking forward to the pics, it is an awesome build so far and it sounds like it is gonna get even better.
