ok so before i set up my 10 gallon breeder tank for my guppies i was buying feeders (gasp).... i know i know it was bad but i stopped after a few days times i had nothing to feed my sculpin that were small enough him being about 1/2 inch i was getting babies out of the feeder tank.
well one survived all of this..including the move to the 10 gallon, figured if i was going to have guppies i might as well have them pretty!, so to the LFS! where i picked up a few females and males and have sens added some.
sooo i noticed the left over feeder guppy while happy and healthy is not any where near as large as my youngest breeding female, when she is almost twice her age, she also produces less fry per batch.
they have been in the same tank with the same diet.....
just goes to show how poor breeding in the mass produced feeder world shows later in life, shes about a year old now the larger one is only around 5-6 months..,....i would recommend spending a little more on fancy guppies if you are going to be breeding them.
^_^ just what iv seen so far
