I built my first canopy today. I started off trying to make it without any directions but I just barely messed up the directions, I ended up using the DIY directions from MFK

Now I need to figure out the best way to mount the 48" flourescent light strip I have, any ideas?

The top looks quite tall in comparison to the tank.

lol, she said its too big for our living room, The tank is a 125.

I still have to paint the hood black, I'll update when everything is finished and cleaned up
 
what are you going to do for aquascaping?

I have yet to see someone use lily pad type plants in their aquariums.

I'm new at all this, that means my background right? I was thinking just a blue background and black gravel but I'm still looking for different backgrounds
 
Aquascapeing is all about the stuff in the tank, the wallpaper is just something to hide the stuff behind the tank. Aquascape is gravel, rocks, plants, drift wood... sunkin ships with bubbles ect.. I personally would stay away from the plastic ships and such try and keep things as natural looking as possible.
