Hey folks,

Back in June i bought and paid for a breeding couple of Srt's. Here are couple pix of them below.

However i still do not have them and they are still in Thailand as i made
the assumption of finding a transhipping/courier would be easy. Guess this could go in the lessons learned section as well.

The 1st month me and Pat/rainny tried to find a transhipper but could not
so i decided to go the air cargo direct shipping way.Had a few quotes and the cheapest was 262pounds about 370usd which was more than the actual breeding Srt's which paid for at 350usd.

I was willing to pay 370 shipping price as thats how much i wanted them.Unfortunately due to Scottish law, the airports are unable to receive live fish plus could not find an airport to house shipping service so scrapped that plan totally.

I could have had the 2xSrt's last week but Pat was out of town and I couldnt get a hold of him so missed the transhipper dead line.

Eventually had my mind set on just forgetting about getting the srts over here as its been over 3months and no luck. Good ole Pat who has been a nice helpful dude over this period said he has a friend in Thailand who could possible get them over here at the end of the month and will let me know in next 6 hours if he can or not.

So this is it ... over 3months of waiting for ma wee gorgeous pets ... scanning the pix, watching the wee youtube clip over n over again , will know tonight if they can make it over here or not, fingers crossed! :)

A thing im worried about is the wheather ... im sure Pat hasnt sent any Srt's 5" & 7" over here in Scotland, especially at 2-4oC overnight, so not sure if they would make it or not in this temperature ... any ideas people?

Much Thanks!

Hoping you get the fish safely to you soon. I know how the feeling is when getting new fish and also that bit of worry that everything will go alright.

$370 is insanity. Sorry your having all the transshipping issues.
Whats the temperature there like? With proper insulation shipping shouldnt be a problem. Texas are very hardy and can handle lower temperatures than most cichlids.

If your still having problems contact this guy- Kevin Piper Email : kevellen6@hotmail.com
He might be able to assist you with transshipping for much less than $370.

Thanks people for the kind words :)

Thats great to hear and temperature atm is around 6-9oC but in around 2 weeks will
drop too 2-4oC during the night.

ahh good ole Kevin, he was one of the first that we tried but he wasnt transhipping then but Thanks for reminder as i will contact him again and see if hes up
for the job, Cheers :)
