Well its been awhile sense I have taken any updated pics of my cats and other inhabitants of the pond. I took a few with a measurement reference in the pic to validate sizes sense I couldnt net the cats. Each mark is 2" apart. Enjoy!

RTC: The first was taken 6months ago when I just got him at 2.5".....you can see how much hes grown sense than! now hes about 20"

TSN: I picked this guy up at the lfs at about 16" maybe 3months back. poor guy was stuffed into a 20 long for a few weeks so I bought him. Now hes about 22"

Pleco: have had this guy for yrs. Will even take shrimp outta my hand on occasion...musta learned that from the other 2. As you can see hes 14" and still growing.

Florida Gar: Bought him about 7-8months ago at the lfs. He was about 8" and looked like a pencil. Not anymore! once I got him hand feeding on frozen fish hes been growing steady. This is actually the first time I have netted him sense moving him and he is surpassingly fat at 16"

Oscar: lfs rescue...saw him in a 10g for about 3 weeks. Decided he would have a better life in the pond even if I know nothing about oscars. lol got him about 2 weeks ago and he seams to be doing well. about 9"

Heres the pics!

Im currently growing out a 3" tsnxrtc in the grow out tank that I got from Snookn (great vendor if you ever get the opportunity to purchase from him you wont be disapointed) and 3 Grass cutter catfish which are about 7" right now...they will go to the pond once there about 1'. Also just made the purchase of a 14" tsnxlei which should make a nice addition to the pond.

I think the gar must be a smaller specie or something. Ive heard of this being done in lfs's and being passed on as real gars. IDK how its only 16 inches with that amount of time to grow? I bought a real alligator gar about 7 weeks ago at roughly 6 inches. It is now over 17 inches long. It does have a much wider snout but it gets confusing here because everyone calls their gasr a florida gar. Anything you can clear me up with ?

there are multiple species of true gar, gators generally grow much faster than the other species

It is a Florida gar. They tend to grow slower and don't get anywhere near as large as a alligator gar....infact I've always wanted a gator gar but could never find one. :(

oh I got it now, Ive been confused because some people call them all gator gars. You may be lucky to have the gar you have, mine is very aggressive and basically demands 2-3 very large goldfish each day. I can't imagine it being satisfied with frozen fish which would be very nice if it did. Very cool to see how fat and large it is getting though. Love your redtail catfish, looking very good

nice make me miss my old indoor pond, i had some big cats an gar as well. looken good
