This is my recently re-planted angelfish tank. The middle is my black/Peruvian angelfish, who killed all the other angelfish we had at first. The other three are Koi angelfish that I got at a fish club auction when they were pea-sized. On the left are the two that paired off, and on the right is the other koi angel. I don't know that the black one would kill the other koi or not, but I would rather not risk it. The dividers are permanent, well, as long as I have these angelfish.

Also housed here are 4 female red grass guppies, 2 metallic guppies (P. metallica), 3 yoyo loaches (I plan on getting 2-3 more), and a peacock gudgeon. Honestly, I think the female gudgeon is my favorite fish in the whole tank! I'm hoping to get some more of these from a local plant-guy in the fish club. May even set up a separate aquarium with just peacock gudgeons. They are super cool little fish! Oh, I'll post some pictures of her too! These were taken with the old gravel before I tore the tank down and re-planted it.

you got pics with the top soil in it

I just use generic top soil. That Scott's stuff you sent me will work, but is more expensive. The stuff I use just comes in a plain white bag that says "top soil."

The first picture up there is of the whole tank, the top soil comes up to the top of the lower tank rim, and it has river rock over top of the top soil. If you read that link, it gives a good way to plant the roots of your plants as you go.

Nce set up. Have you thought about growing moss on the dividers?

Moss on the dividers? I have some moss, and it's attached to some mopani in my large goldfish tank, but they keep ripping it apart. I may just have to attach it to the dividers. That's a FANTASTIC idea.

Here is the new picture of the male. When I first went up to the tank, they both looked right at me (you know, how angelfish seem to "disappear.")
The female won't cooperate for a picture! The male is "proud" though, and very protective of his girl.

Here are the eggs I just pulled from my lovely couple. I'm giving the breeding pair to a guy who is trading me for a filter (damn goldfish.) Anyway, I will be unable to care for the babies from the 29 til the 7 of January, so I'm giving these babies to another friend of mine after they hatch.

Slightly off topic, what is it you like about the peacock gudgeon? I found a not-so-local store that stocks them and was thinking of getting a pair.
