Project #1 - Bonsai Fader x Blood Parrot
This project is the same one as before, my male Bonsai Fader and and my female Parrot, Butters. They have spawn twice in the past but no fry resulted of it. I am still hoping that its because the male is inexperienced not because he is sterile.

Project #2 - Red Devil x Blood Parrot
This project is between my largest female parrot, Polly, and a male Red Devil that I picked up the other day. As soon as I put them together they hit it off, no aggression on either party. I am not expecting anything great to come of the fry, I just wanna be able to say I have finally bred a parrot. Plus a little curious to see how the fry turn out. These will probably be feeders but I will keep and grow out the best.

Project #3 - Pink Convict x Blood Parrot or Pink Convict x Bonsai Flowerhorn
Tis project is my wildcard one because I don't know what will happen. I picked up a really nice male Pink Convict that was in a tank full of his fry so he has spawned several times in the past. He was listed as a Jellybean Parrot but clearly is not a shortbody flowerhorn. I also have a female Parrot and a female Bonsai Flowerhorn. Again not expecting anything from either spawn scenarios, with this I just want a tank with the parents and fry living together. These will probably be feeders but I will keep and grow out the best.

id go with bonsai x bonsai

I would too but she is too small for him, he would rip her apart. I personally want the male convict to choose the bonsai, I have only seen convict x flowerhorn once and it was a black convict and not a leucistic one.

props man, these are all great projects! I am like you I have a shortbody fh buddy and not too sure if it will work or not, Im gonna breed him to a red texas female thats shot eggs out, so its worth the effort! the con parrot would be great! I may try to pull that off aswell!

Omg too funny, I have two pink cons with some of the prettiest of my texas parrots...and since my sb FH Titus doesn't have a mate atm I put a female pink con in with him. If both pairings work out the offspring will be crossed so I can get some pink flower jellybeans, lol!

Really interesting project's, I'd breed the fry from the RD X parrot back to a parrot. Might start looking a bit like a KKP then Chris.

Thats what I want to do now but I honestly didn't think of that, I have 2 other female parrot so I wouldn't have to wait as long for RDxBP to be as big as Polly I wouldn't need to inbreed. I wanna get to a point where I am breeding just parrots.

By incorporating RD blood (and NOT inbreeding) you have a much better chance at producing a fertile male parrot

Wait what?

Your far more likely to create a fertile male because of the addition of something other than parrot to this project. Male blood parrots are sterile, jellybean parrots aren't. Along with half a dozen other parrot cross's I've seen or read about. I can almost gaurantee your F1 males will be fertile. Inbreeding is supposedly another factor in male parrot fertility.
