Hey guys I am getting ready to purchase some aro's that I am told are baby blacks but they sure look like silvers. Can anyone verify??

Looks like blacks to me.

Blacks.
Enjoy them!

They can be real delicate at young age though, beware!

I have a big adult I rescued now, but I did have a juvi before, it was eating well, in a good sized tank, perfect water stats...

..Boom! Just died for no aparent reason!

Here are a few pics of it: (the color/pattern of this one is the next stage of growing up)

LOL, do me a favor Mr Arowana keeper of the year 2011!

Here, let me show you what apparent means:

Apparent –adjective
"readily seen; exposed to sight; open to view; visible: The crack in the wall was readily apparent."

So when I said "no apparent reason".....

I just lost my 26" black last week so I am going to try and raise these guys up. the markings are hard for me to distiguish. I thought they had the full on peguin suit at birth.

Don't worry mate, defo Blacks. :D

if you don't know they are baby black aros you should not be buying any as if you done ANY research at all you would know for sure they were black aros which look completely different to silvers when small

and again if you done ANY research you would also know its not a good idea to buy any aro with a yolk sack its to much of a gamble

Isn't that what I'm doing here is researching?? I have kept black aros before as well as silvers so don't lecture me about what I should be doing. I am well aware that any aro with the yolk sac is a very fragile animal. I have looked at multiple photos that show blacks with yolk sacs and they have the full black suit. If I knew everything there is to know than I wouldn't be here on a forum now would I? For $25.00 each I am willing to take the gamble they will survive but I am purchasing blacks and I want to be sure thats what I'm getting. Now take your attitude somewhere else unless you have something more constructive to attribute. thanks
