Now that i have had the filter running on my 350 turtle pond for a few days, id like to add some media and an algae scrubber. Had a few questions on the topic.

I was planning to add the algae scrubber to the right roof on top of the pond filter. 8 to 12" tall and 2-3' long. 2x4 pillars to hold it up, coupler to make easily removable, and a large power head to run it.

What would be a good size to aim for? Would longer or wider be better, if it even matters? 250 gallons of water in full sun with good water circulation.
I’ve seen so many styles online. Should i use one sheet of canvas? or 2-3?
Should i slot the top bar or not?
Need to cut slit in roof for canvas/water to pass thru. What do you think is the smallest i could go without problems?
Can the water transfer smoothly down the canvas/algae or will it constantly splash or miss the top of the roof?(if so id probably have to put acrylic shield on the side)
Any recommendation?

The filter is 4 separate boxes that drain into each other, id would like to fill each up with all types of media. I have filter brushes, rocks/gravel, bio balls, pot scrubbers, fishing line, and coarse media. I was thinking the more the better, and things i could easily clean.

Anyone else have success with using fishing line as filter media?
Anyone know a good way to clean very dirty pot scrubbies?
Pros/Cons/Types of rocks to have to filter?
Any plants that i can have on the roof yet the roots can reach down into the water in the filter boxes?
Other types of media i could add?

Pond has 250+ gallons of water, full sunlight, exposed to rain, good water circulation, will house 14+ water turtles and many fish

Nice, does it come as one long ribbon, strands or do you cut them up urself?
Do you think the material will last long term thru many washings or weather?

I was planning to shape and bag the fishing line for now. Ill def look into that ribbon media some day.
