I built this reactor out of 1.5" PVC. Ther are three potscrubbers inside the tube. This is the overall picture. It is designed to be plumbed into the return line of an Eheim filter. Also pictured is a red potscrubber inside the tube, the tube is 18" long. Amazingly our Dollar tree ran out of the six packs of pot scrubbers.

Last but not least is a picture of the tubing which will carry the CO2 into the reactor. This tube is 1/8" diameter, and goes up to right infront of the input end of the reactor. It is siliconed in from both sides.

This is very loosely based on the Rex Griggs design, but tweaked to work on my filter, and my tank. :)

Very clean and well put together.
Is there an easy way that will let ya clean the mulm out of the scrubbers if needed?

There shouldn't be too much mulm, as it is on the return from the filter. What little there is, I'm not too worried about. I can take the unit apart, and clean it if necessary, but I don't think I will be doing that at all.

I have a simular co2 reactor built, but I have problems with mulm buildup. So what I did was installed a union to the reactor, so I could open it and clean the mulm out whenever it built up. I also use pot scrubbers which work great since you only need something to make turbulance to break up the co2 bubbles.

HEY NOW THERE IS A GREAT IDEA! I'll have to go get a union for the unit. Seems like such an obvious thing, but I completely missed it. Thanks Chuckeff for the kick@$$ upgrade.
