Dude no one has 1.5" wild caught festae. No one goes out to catch fish that small. Absolutely, no one. Your little fish were produced in a hatchery. When festae were available from Ecuador no one collected or imported fish that small. Your fish are festae but they are not wild caught, and your seller knows this, but sadly you don't. You shouldn't be recommending a seller unless you know for certain their product is authentic. Wild caught fish have never been as readily available as your seller's and they never have been collected at less than 3".:headshake

So.. Who got proof that they are NOT Authentic? And who in the world can stop me from recommending what I want to recommend? I had a good purchase and happy about it.

somebody talk to him for me if you have the interest.

Well the bad thing about getting wid caught fish is you have to trust the seller and take his word for it. But I can say that I don't know of many people that go after wild fish that small but I'm not a expert in that area of the hobby. Tho I can say that the money is in larger wild caught fish for them to make a bigger profit. The don't worry about the pm because at the least U may have F1 festea which is still great

I can't say anything about your Festae (don't know any specifics) but there certainly are small wild-caught fish - my wild-caught robertsoni came from the Cichlid Exchange (very reputable) at around 1.5". The Wet Spot stocks dozens of wild-caught species (cichlids and otherwise) that are very small as well.

I bought F0 from the seller. So I have F0

I definately agree with them being small for wilds but hey I bought them as wilds and it would be false advertise if I say they were F1's.

Anyways. who's gonna proof what or is this all Assumption ?

I assumed likewise but bought them anyways because who am I to say? What the heck do i know? The fish never came for me so i ain't saying shih about it because I don't now. I didn't catch or breed them. Same for you all. Don't point unless you saw.

So who got proof or a bunch of assumptions; just like my ignorant azz before I purchased them?

Everyone has an opinion on the topic and they varry a lot. Don't let one opinion get to you. If your happy with your purchase that's all that matters.

I got some from cichlidsoftheamericas that are supposedly wild caught and I have every reason the believe Dan plus fish that small are very easy and cheap to ship so why not get 400 or 500 and send them back and sell the for over ten bucks a piece I guarantee if I went down there and had the oppertunity to get them I would on a heartbeat

No comment on the subject...

...actually no comment is sometimes more powerful than no comment.

If they were sold as wild then you should enjoy the fact that you have wild caught fish. For someone to reign on your parade is just someone being a bully. There's no way to know unless you know where your supplier got them. I can agree with Dan F. though that there certainly are small wild caught fish available. I buy them myself from wholesalers.

I can't say if your fish are wild caught or not. I CAN tell you that the guy who sent the PM is completely WRONG. That's exactly the size fish that is collected to bring back. You only have limited space in your box. The smaller the better. He has no idea what he's talking about. Ignore him.

Until wild fish come in with collection papers, the buyer is at the mercy of the seller. You have to know your buyer and trust that the fish he/she is selling as wild are actually wild caught. Lots of unscrupulous sellers will sell tank raised fish as wilds just to make an extra buck.
