Anybody know anything about these guys? Personality compared to other synos? I am getting a few tomarrow.

someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they're similar to multipunctatus...at least as far as social behavior goes. I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that they prefer to be in groups like multis and perhaps are also parasitic spawners as well. they are probably my favorite syno, or at least tied with Syno. shoutedeni. :)

That is a great looking syno cat! I like the look of that. You'll have to post pics as soon as you get yours.

Just going on the pics, I think they are going to be my new favorite syno. They should do fine in a semi-aggressive community tank with plecos, loaches, and cichlids, right?

I should have four about 6" long tomarrow. Pics will be up A.S.A.P.

I would reconsider housing them, depending on the cichlids you've got in the tank...things like angels and geophagus are fine, however, larger, more boisterous and ultimately aggressive fish are not good eats with this fish, a very docile and shy animal.

All four synos just came in and they look great! A little skinny but great color. I'll try to post some pics Thursday or Friday.

Flavitaeniatus is more aggressive then the other syno's I've kept but not over the top or anything. I've kept decorus and multipunctatus and they were way more peacefull then the flavitaeniatus. They should be fine with the bigger cichlids if they are africans and probably still with the south americans. I've known very few synodontis cats to get picked on because they are peacefull and bottom dwellers and most of the time cichlids leave them alone in my experience with them personally and at the lfs I used to work at. If you are worried though leave them some rock to hide in/under and they should be fine. Post pic and good luck! I loved mine their colors are great, they are just a little more fiesty then the other syno's ~Trent

Sorry forgot to confirm some of what Jason_S said, they do prefer to be in groups as do most synos and they are parasitic spawners ~Trent

I took home two, still one left at work and I'll probably take him home too. I'll get pics up later tonight. They are in a 125 full of plecos, bichirs, a Jardini arowana ( he only bothers the Red Hooks), a Red tiger Motoguense, a Red Devil/Pearl of the Orient Flower Horn ( HE only bothers the Motoguense), and a few clown loaches. Everybody pretty much gets along, so I'm not to worried.
