Hey guys.

I'm hoping that maybe some people have some extra equipment or something and can help out a guy named Glenn.

Here's the story:

I had a Pacu who of course outgrew my 55, then outgrew my 125. He was 24" long. My first post on these forums was asking if anyone had accomodations for him. I had tried calling local aquariums but "amazon exhibit is already full" is what i got.

A man named Glenn fortunately lived 20 minutes away and took him. Very nice guy, helped to get him out of the tank and got soaked in the process!

Any how, I sent Glenn an email a few minutes ago to see how he was doing with the big pacu.

This is what he replied:

Well it's good that your other fish are enjoying their
freedom. I have thought abpout naming the fish "the
wrecking ball". Within three days it destroyed my
glass cover, splitting it almost exactly in two. Fun
trying to find broken glass in a full aquarium. Then
on the 3rd I came home from my night teaching job,
turned the light on, and it spooked, rammed the end
just right and YES kept going. The 150 burst all over
and the water-gravel -plants-rocks-heaters-filters
went everywhere. Initial reaction is to try and stop
the water. What?????????? Wasn't thinking straight.
Finally got hold of "TWB" and the Pleco and threw them
into the 90g. Friday & Saturday were spent getting
rid of 150 pieces and drying out. They hate the 90g
and is toooooo small. I have been swapping out 15-20g
water daily to help quality. Finally went out and
bought used 180g but it needs to be altered and won't
be ready for about a week. If nothing else the fish
has made my life interesting.....Good luck at RWC

I gave this guy a fish that completely ruined his tank and the room that the tank was in! I sent him another email apologizing and seeing if there was anything i could do to help. He said don't worry about it! I feel terrible for this guy!

I am a college student, i'm going back up to RI tomorrow morning. I was hoping that there was maybe something that we could do for this guy. Maybe someone has some left over aquarium equipment? I don't know, anyone have a huge glass tank in CT that they are trying to sell?

Anything?!?!

We could start a fundraiser for him.

That sucks but don't tear your self up about he knew the risks bringing in an adult fish for his tank and theres no way you could have known he would have spooked like that..

glenn had a three hundred tat it was gonna go into

Its not like he blamed it on you . "I did not take it that way" Did you ?
If you feel that way I am sad .
There is a old saying it goes , F him if he cant take a bad joke , F him if he can ,
so I would say to you , If you feil bad and want to help , Well were all in this together .
I have some fake coral that my piranha chewed on if he wants it .

He did not blame me at all.

These are his exact words: "Hey.....
It's not your fault...It'snot anyone's...Stuff
happens...It'll all work out....glenn"

I just feel real bad because he was trying to help me and my giant pacu out.

A fundraiser would be sweet!

I don't have much but after work next week i could put a small amont towards it. Maybe i could get him a gift certificate to an online fish supply place?

The reason i thought about this was so:

i have an old honda and frequent an old honda motorcycle forum. One guy's son was going across country on his bike. Many forum members along the way gave him a place to stay, and even fed him! Bikers! aah!

WOW that is cool . It makes me want to get a bike and go all over the world
and get to see everyones tank and eat .
EVERYONE STEP ASIDE I HAVE A BONNER .:headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2

haha, i guess that is a little weird.

I can imagine being the guy on the bike, showing up to the adress, and its a rusted old chevy van down by the river with a shirtless bald guy waiting for me.

But seriously, any ideas?

I've attached a dramatization of the whole ordeal to lighten the mood up a bit:
