I have breed 5 different pairs of flowerhorns thus far, and I have been success full 2/5.

this is the second case of success. I have these breeding posts else where on other sites, but I have decided to put one here since, some ppl seem to be having problems or think they cant be breed or w/e lol

I have pics with these but the batteries died so...

Day4 -
Day5 - (01/29/07) LOlz i didnt really expect this male to be fertile because he breed b4 with this female and nothing happened LOL
but i guess he is fertile lol i want to see how these guys will come out... this male when it was smaller was very pearly and so does the female... we shall see i guess... I'll let them raise the babies hope they dont eat them lolz
tank mates will be moved out today :P

Day6 - (01/30/07) Wiggling the female picks them out of the FUNGUS covered DEAD (white) EGGS.... I DIDNT USE ANY METHYLENE BLUE, SO If you allow the parents to raise them, you wont need it since she picks them up in her mouth and "chews" them up (cleans them, read it on another website) then spits them out...... also for some reason the water in the tank is GREEN and i only have a room light on for ~6hours a day... and its crystal clear... the glass is dirty lolz

Day7 - (01/31/07)*notice they ate most of the WHITE(dead)eggs.... from the bowl and the living ones are even more darker and vibrant..

DAY8 - (02/01/07)
They ate ALL of the white dead eggs and only the fry wiggling around left... whenever they swim off from the group she catches them and puts them back in the group LOL (NO PICS, CAMERA BATTERIES ARE DEAD)

DAY9 - (02/02/07)Fry growing some are trying to free swim, most are clumped in balls wiggling around lol
(my camera is a POS and eats batteries for breakfast)
The Total length of the male is ~9inches the female ~6inches

DAY11 - (02/04/07) ALL FRY ARE FREE SWIMMING, parents are catching the ones that stray to far and bringing them back to the "nest"... but also they seem to be more aggressive to each other sort of... no camera sad.gif yet...
I estimate around ~300+fry

Good job.....those are pretty....Good looking fish by the way.

Day13 - Took out the male and female from the tank today, but i took some shots b4 and after i took them out....fry swimming lively and there is really no need for the parents to be in there any more, plus I they might eat them because it's so crowded....

**NOTE: Since flowerhorns are hybrids it's hard to predict the quality of the fry, and it is very random so try your luck.
