Baby DAt Question...?help?

So i bought a baby 1" indo dat at my LFS and he looked fine at first, now after i put him into a new bigger tank, he has a whitish colored piece of flesh coming out his nostril or something??

Any clue what it is?? ill have pictures by the end of the week...

thats what i saw on a lot of the baby dats at my lfs before they died... not saying its whats gonna happen to yours. but baby dats are dieing easier then bigger ones. there more prone to disease at the smaller size so i've heard.
 
just put in some salt. there too small for any chemicals and stuff. but the white stuff from the nose isnt normal... which u prolly know.
 
yea i added some salt, and my temps a lil over 80, roughly 80 actually... i hope all goes well, one of the fihs already succumbed to the disease/watever it is...
 
i dont kno if dats can handle higher temp water, but find out if they can because bacteria or ich is handled better with higher temps.
 
my tank is 80ish with the Indo Dat(20G) and my thinbar does great in 80-82 fluctuating temps..90G

i dont get how LFS or atleast mine can treatother fish but not a Dat... wish they could get their act together
 
So i went to wally world(W - mart) to get my instant camera developed, and i go back to pick up my pics, and BAM i get the "no charge" packet of pics... only one picture got developed, and it wasn't any of the fish i took pictures of. I got a good pic of the wifey, but no pics of the collection, needless to say i was pissed, cuz i was entering a LFS contest for best tank and best fish pics.

so no pics of the Dats white nose thing...hopefully its gone.
 
Sounds like your dat has a snotty nose, maybe a cold. Dose with pseudoephedrine, doxylamine, and chlorpheniramine (NyQuil). LOL
 
haahhaha. i used nyquil on my dats!!! it worked great!!! (just kidding... dont try it) but the baby dats will work in higher temps. i have all my fish at 84-85 including my baby indos. and there growing fast!!!! there feasting on blood worms 4 times a day
