MY FLOWERHORN HAVE FINALLY BRED SUCCESSFULLY. THEY ARE BOTH A MIX OF THE OLD KOKSTER STRAIN AND BLUE DRAGON. I GUESS THERES ABOUT 500 WIGGLERS IN THE TANK. ILL POST PICS SOON AS I CAN GET THEM UP. THE PARENTS ARE GREAT AND HAVENT EATEN ANY OF THE BABIES. EITHER WAY, THINGS ARE LOOKING GOOD!!!! :naughty:  :clap :woot:

watch out for the parents. mine was ok for about a week. afterwards, the male suddenly became territorial and killed my female. just to be sure...transfer them both to separate tanks.....feed the frys with brine shrimps

i feed all of my CICHLID fry cyclopeze
very good for them!
congrats

IM GONNA TRY TO HAVE PICS UP BY THE WEEKEND. I THINK I WILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE AND MOVE THE FATHER OUT OF THE TANK. HES NOT GETTING MEAN OR ANYTHING, BUT I DONT WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. I HAVE THE HIKARI FIRST BITES FOR THE FRY, BUT I STILL SEE THEIR YOLK SACS SO I HAVENT TRIED ANY FOOD FOR THEM YET. IT SHOULD BE FUN TO WATCH THEM GROW, CONSIDERING THE PARENTAGE, THERE MAY BE SOME LARGE HEADED FISH IN THERE. :headbang2 EITHER WAY, IM SURE THERE WILL BE A LOT OF THEM. WHEN DO THEY START FREE SWIMMING AND HOW LONG BEFORE THEY SHOW A LITTLE PERSONALITY? :D

No Pics still?

Congratulations! :clap

I suggest growing your own baby brine shrimp for them. It is very easy and quite inexpensive. I believe it is a much better source of protein for the fry during this development stage.

Keep us posted! :woot:

arent FH a hybrid therefore making the males sterile most of the time. I have only ever seen and witnessed one pair of hybrids breed and that was a pair of parrots and all 50 or so of their offspring were red devils... why can FH breed so easily?
