I recently baught this 150 w/ everything, including fish. (pictured below)

My "to do" list for the project:
1. Rehab the stand
2. Unseal the over flow box (previous owner was running 2 cannister filters and had seal up the O-box)
3. Convert over to a wet/dry and oh yeah .....Make a wet/dry
Now before going to work it was time to set up some temp housing for the fish that came w/ the tank. My africans had made it clear that no new fish where welcome in THEIR tank, so that was not an option.
Nothing two 55G platic tubs, an Ehiem 2217, a heater, an air pump, some drift wood, and some rocks could'nt fix. I might look ghetto bet at least its a place to call home.

Back to the Stand.... the only set back being it was an old looking stand and the dark wood stain went w/ nothing in my house. I originaly planned to sand and paint it but decided to take a sledge hammer to it instead!.
(Very fun part of the project)

The original stand had a hight of 28", being that the glass is 34" I thought it made the tank look like it sat too low. So I decided to build my own stand that would be 32" tall. But I'm on a budget so most of the original wood would be reused in building the new stand. Here's a pic of the new stand framed up. (sorry its upside down)

This tank besides having the two 1" holes in the over flow, also has two 1/2" holes in the tank portion itself. I will be pluming these in as drain holes, so when it comes time for water changes I can hook a garden hose to the back of the stand turn a valve and let it rip!
But when building the stand I decided to throw in some extra support across the top and never measured to see where these holes sat.
Lesson learned!

So I ended up w/ a 2x4 coveing up each drain hole.
Once I got around that problem it was time to build me a wet/dry and dry fit all the plumbing. Three platics tubs make up the wet/dry which holds a little under 15 galllons of bioballs.

Today I cemented all the pipe in and this is where I currenlty 'stand'.
Tommorow water will be going in to test out the plumbing (im so excited
).
More pics will be on the way as the project progresses.
