Well...not too sure if I would be shot opening this thread..but we all know that alot of monster fishes we are keeping are food fishes for humans as well...so maybe we can share what are the fishes that we have eaten and AT THE SAME TIME keeping that fish type in your tank(S) as well?

For me, I have eaten Giant Gouramis and Pagasius Catfishes while I have those in my collection too...Felt a little gulity when I see them after those meals though... :naughty:

So..share ur experience there...

Although store bought, I was surprised to see "Tambaqui" (aka Pacu) at the store for $3.99 a pound. My brother bought two of them, about 3 lbs each. He had it gilled and gutted, and he made a slice on each side and placed them on the grill. When it was ready, he sprinkled salt on it, squeezed some lemon, and served them on a plate. I've never tasted fish like that, the meat is so fine, yet firm. Unlike the catfish's fine meat where it seems to be mushy, the tambaqui is fine meat, but firm. (redundant). Tasty too. Other than that, the only fish I eat are the one's I catch when I go fishing, i.e., Calico Bass, Pacific Barracuda, White Sea Bass, Yellowtail, the occasional tunas, and rockfish.

i don't think i could ever eat one of my monsters but if i did i don't think i would look at them the same again

Flounder, although the one in my tank didnt last long, I still eat them
