Picked up 2 bags today at $ 14.99 per bag...I know, kinda pricey, but I want it lol..

It does says superior quality quartz sand...

Don't see why not. Quartz is inert, as said, so it won't affect water params..

I use quartz sand with good results. (with rays even)

I use quartz pool fitler sand with my rays.

It is great and cheap.
