Medway Me.
This summer I plan to build a tank for a motoro ray. My plans are 5ft. long, 2 ft. wide and 2 ft. tall. I calculate this at 150 gal. Is this ok for a ray, I havnt started building yet so I can still change the design.

I plan to filter it with a diy wetdry made from an old aquarium. I have an old 55 and an old 30. I would rather not use the 55 but I will if I have to. Is the 30 big enough? I am also going to have an emp. 400 in the tank. Is this ok or do I need more filtration?

The tank you are suggesting is small, i feel guilty keeping little 15cm pups in my 5ft tank. I would say that would be a good tank for a small ray for a year and then you would have to upgrade to a 8ft tank, or pond.

6x3x2 is smallest i would keep adult motoro.

x2

30g sump should be fine imo although the bigger the better so the 55g would be a great idea.

Cool thanks guys, I will make the tank bigger, like I said there is still time to change plans. Im going to use the 30 for the sump but what size retern pump? brand?, ext. Cheap is good! lol

You know what I just rememberd? I have a water pump! maby you guys could identify it. All is says on it is "Pro 4" nothing else. I'd post a pic but my digy cams on the fritz I assume it is 400 gph, is that ok for my sump?
