workin on this 210 stand. tell me what you think. should i have bracing goin across? thing is heavy and built tough.. or so it seems. point out any flaws.
you didn't say for what tank .. if it is for acrylic, you will need a few center braces with a stiff board on top ... otherwise, the design looks very good ... easily support 210 gal w/o any problem
would it be necessary or just overkill? as for the wood, im spray painting it with one of those texture paints.. so far it looks real good . ill post pics when im done. to match the stand i plan on spray painting the trimming on the tank. would it stick to the trimming fine or chip off?
i used this paint.
You don't really NEED to skin the stand in plywood but it would add a great deal to the strength. I've seen stands with fabric stapled along the exposed sides that looked fantastic.
IF YOU DO NOT ADD A PLYWOOD FACE....., I WOULD ATLEAST ADD A LITTLE BIT OF CROSS BRACING......, TO KEEP IT FROM SWAYING AND COLLAPSING......., MY2CENTS
