Thanks to Matt and Nicky at Underwater Adventures for taking this guy. We didn't have the proper facilities to house it, and probably would not have been able to find a customer that was capable of housing it either.

Netting this fish proved impossible. The first time I got the net around it, it jumped out, directly into another tank. The second time around it jumped about three feet, right into my rubbermaid tub, which was already full of water. I got really lucky. I think through all that there was maybe a couple of scale scrapes, and a bit of a bruised up nose. Should make a full recovery.

Security at the Mall of America was tight. I had plans of walking in with a big plastic tub wrapped in duct tape. They didn't see it that way. My ass hurts.

After all that, we saved this Silver Arowana from almost certain doom. Now it has the best tank fish can ask for. First pics are the cramped fish in the store, the latter are the fish in the massive quarantine tank at UA. Sorry for the crappy shots, didn't have a lot of time, I'm busy today.

Great work man. He is a pretty good looking fish. I'm sure he'll appreciate his new home.

nice save there eric
:D

I had to my drive car away from the mall to an inspection station which was a guy in a trailer in a huge parking lot. He had a big mirror too look for contaband underneath the car. He directed me to the shipping lair, where I had to fill out paperwork and get an ID badge. Then I had to walk about 1/2 mile worth of concrete tunnels to Underwater Adventures. The funny thing is no one ever asked to see what was in this big duct taped tub. I'm glad, the fish was in a mood. I probably would have had to collect fish off the pavement.

Well, you won't find me trying to hold that fish down for a measurement, but I estimate it at 2 feet. The tank is 18 " deep, and you can see the fish easily spans the entire depth in the pic where it's turning around.

very good looking Arow ..glad he got a new home despite all you went through:nilly:

Didn't you drop your own money to save this beast? This is one lucky arowana.
