I.D. please

My neighbor gave this guy to me. It is about 7-8 inches. Midas or Red Devil? What is the difference between the two? Also, any idea on it's sex?

I could be wrong but it kinda looks like a female red devil. I have seen them before but not with that much white on them.
 
That is a Female Midas/RD cross. If it were a midas it would be a HELL of alot bulkier and have a short snout and if it were an RD than it would be a little more slender and have big lips. Also the snout is longer on RD's. Midas grow larger than RD's and also have different gill plates. I know you guys are going to call me crazy but it is true look at a Midas's gill plate then look at an RD's. The Midas's gill plate isn't round like a circle it has a little indent in it and the RD's have a round gill plate.
 
Definitely a hybrid, but I think more midas because its lips aren't huge and don't have a point at the tip of the top lip. Also I think that TRUE red devils are noticably more slender with a longer pointed snout compared to a midas.

Used to have one that looked sorta like that, I really miss it. It had a white spot on one side that looked like Africa.

Hybrid, might actually be a male.. Temperment? Varies, could be a killer, or in a large tank or any decent tank could get along well. Size probably up to 12-14". Could get a kok, wait and see.
 
whats a kok????and btw nice looking hybrid,plus the other cichlids in the back,also what size tank is he in???
 
This is how it will look someday, at least close to this one.. very nice Midas/red devil by the way..:D This is a male.
