Hokay, I was watching a youtube video of a caiman lizard and a FW stingray (motoro) in a zoo. What do you think of this? Might the stingray have a clumsy accident and stab it? Can't the caiman lizard take a chunk out of it? If you think it might work, how about adding an aro?

This might be the ultimate stupid question, but I thought I'd give it a go on here. I wouldn't be able to do this anyway nor would I risk it if I could afford it. Just wanted to hear thoughts. :)

If anyone wants the video link, I'll get it for you.

If you feel this thread needs to be moved, go ahead.

Yeah, but I dont own half of the Amazon river xD

Don't you wish you could win the lottery and have your dream setup?

By they way, I hope anyone reading this knows I'm talking about caiman LIZARDS, not caimans. I might have misidentified the ray, the only ones I really know are motoros and leopoldis. So to me its one or the other lol.

Anyway, heres the vid.

Apperently they know nothing about proper tank dimensions and they forgot the fact that caiman lizards arent totally aquatic. Anyway, I would'nt have that much of a doubt if it was a massive tank with enough room for both, land and water.

I don't know much about the camain lizard but don't they specialize in eating snails or something? I didn't have time to google it.

Yeah they eat snails, crustaceans, fish, etc in the wild. In captivity they eat mice, crickets, roaches, dogfood. Typical monitor/tegu fare.

There was one Jeff Corwin caught. That beast was freakin' rugged, missing one hand.

My original post still apply. You would need some kind of very strong filter to support the health of the stingray(s). If I recall correctly, they really can't take a whole lot of crap. Pun not intended.

What original post?

thats a flower ray i belive or maybe a marble motoro not to clear on my comp

but thats pretty tight never heard of a caimen lizard

Sorry for my lack of ray knowledge! ^^'

Yeah I absolutely love caiman lizards. In my top 5 favorite herps. Although I wouldn't dare keep one. They cost far too much to risk my noobish mistakes on.

Although by the time I have a chance to build a big setup (for anything) someone might have had a breakthrough in caiman lizards. Or at least some other herp everyone likes but only dreams of keeping. Kinda like chameleons a few years ago.

I'd settle for a tegu though :D Man would I love a big male blue...
