tiger muskie with gill curl

I think how the curl gill happened one time when I changed too much water and the fish started to breath really fast. It eventually survived and, but only one side the the gill never covered back completely. Now it stays open about half way.

How to fix/cure it?

When I see the severity of it and how it is curled, etc I will suggest a remedy.

You just tranquilize the fish and cut of the curled gill (assuming it's on the soft tissue area) I will grow back eventually.
