I went to catch some fish in the pond behind my house, hoping to get some perch or bluegill for my new tank, but I think this monster has eaten everything in the pond. Including my trap and the Bacon in my trap.

so there are absolutely no fish in the pond now because of him?

here's what i saw in the pond; tons of pond turtles, 4 or 5 18" carp (i think they are comets someone dumped) and "nessie". its about a .5 acre pond.
the water is murky, and when i tried to fish all i caught was turtles. i didnt even see any small perch or bluegills that are typically seen chasing bugs near the shoreling.
would it be a good idea to have the pond stocked? what would this do to the ecosystem?
also, this is a man made pond that's only inlet is from storm/drainage pipes, and no outlet.

stocking it would be piontless because all the turtles would eat the fish faster than they could reproduce, what you need to do is drain the pond take out the turtles make a grate over the inlet and build a small fence around the pond so turtles couldn't get back in and then stock it

thanks, but its a community pond, and i think the children around here would be sad if i collected up the turtles and made soup. although the local aquarium doesn't have a "nessie", but i like all my limbs intact, so i probably wont mess with him.

I doubt the turtles ate ALL the fish, it would be more likely that the fish all died from winter kill or something.

Comets do not grow into carp. Goldfish and carp are two distinct species.
