It sure looked like a lot in the bucket but when it was bagged I'd didn't seem like that much. It said it was good for a couple thousand gallons.
I planned on keeping the sump fairly basic.
Time to switch gears and think about aquascaping. I want to leave plenty of swimming area and be fairly accurate to an Amazon biotope. I gathered these limbs in a local creek. They were too big to boil so I propped them up in my grill and put it on high for about 30 minutes on each side. I figured it would help kill whatever nasties were in there. The grill temp went over 500 degrees with the lid down.
My friend Josh found this perfect piece for the opposite side of the tank. Hope to have some geophagus fry hiding out in it someday! I power washed then grilled this one too.
