I am just getting back into keeping fish again. About 4 to 5 sold all my tanks, 150g 125g 75g and 55g due to me moving from NJ to KY. I was recently given the opportunity to get a Acrylic 180g with a stand for about $200. I watch some post a tank on Craig's list for $2000 about 2 months ago . Every week a new post would show up with the same tank and the price lowered by $50 to $200. When the guy hit $300, I asked to meet. When we spoke the guy lower the price to $ 250 with out me asking so I offer $200 and he took it. He said he needed the money for a tattoo gun. I was a little nervous because he was willing to let it go for so little. I got it home and set it up in the garage for about 2 weeks. No leaks, no signs of repairs, the sump although damaged still held water. I fill secure enough to start refinishing it now. I plan on buffing out the scratches, paint the back ground, reinforce and refinish the stand. I'll update as I improve the tank.

Yup the stand is in really bad shape. I am building a new one out of 2 x 4s. I plan on taking the current stand apart and use the front and sides. I think I may paint it white. Normally I always paint my stands black but furniture set is white so I think it will match nicely.

This is one of my older ones.

I was cleaning the tank and notice a few things. Should I be worried ? Looks like bubbles in the seems.also mold or algae. Some of it I can't get to.

Stand almost complete, need to get corners.

Also sanded and polish the tank.

Used plastidip for the background.

I think i need to try to polish the tank again. It's still foggy/had a haze. Any one have this issue after sanding and novus 3 2 &120160918_191608.jpg

Don't know the answer to your question but it's looking good. Did you paint the stand structure and plywood top?

Just the structure, I have foam on top of the plywood top to help remove any issues with screw heads touching the tank.

Couldn't get all the haze out but it's ok. I finally got it in the house.
