You are the manIf you make or buy a strainer, make sure there are enough slots or holes so the pump isn't starved of water. If you want to buy the OEM intake grille, the part # is7268109 and the coarse filter is #2615600.

Hahaha hes more knowledgeable than any of there techsBefore I call Eheim. I ask Deeda.
Thanks for all the kind comments but for the record, I'm an old(er) woman!
I did a lot of research when upgrading from my 1st canister filter which was a Marineland Magnum and the concensus was that the Eheim Classic series was the way to go. I bought a couple of their 'fancy' models, the 2028 and 2229, but the Classic models have given me the best bang for the buck. Easy to use, clean and repair (when I break something).
How do you reach their tech dept ?i have to agree on Deeda.. it's the longest canister i have ran so far.. i have 3 x 2262s and i have all the spare parts for the pump, pump, and one of the each double tap connections.. was always a breeze cleaning and resetting the filter back up... their tech was very easy to reach and if if they cant figure out the problem i can reconfigure their product to solve most of the problems..
