Bad idea/good idea?

Postig a couple pics so you have a good visual. I am getting ready to put water int he 240 and have a last minute hesitation. I have 3/4" super dense gym floor-mat between the tank and the plywood. I couple of reasons behind this - 1) eliminate any unevenness that would stress the glass and be potential failure points. ( I should note the stand was made in a commercial steel fabrication facility) 2) it was free and I had it on hand.

Here are the pics

For rimless tanks I put 1/2" Styrofoam between tank and plywood. For rimmed tanks I think you can put directly on the plywood. In fact, I don't think it's recommended to put cushioning material for rimmed tanks like you have.

That depends if the bottom glass is raised from the sides. If so then no foam. If not then you need foam
