Sorry, I'm very new to African cichlids... Is there any African cichlids with both male and females being vibrant that will work for my 45 gallon that will get about the same size? Sorry for the noob questions

How about demasoni ?
Sure but if your considering demasoni I would go back to the saulosi suggestion. The males of both species are very similar looking, blue with black bars, but you get the stark contrast with the yellow female saulosi. Both are roughly the same size but imo saulosi are far less aggressive and with you being a noobie to cichlids, starting it with a less aggressive cichlid may be the way to go.

And the demasoni?
Is this tank 36 or 48" long?

1M/8-10F in a 48" tank... Don't know how successful a 36" tank would be... They are brutal to one another. You must keep them in large colonies to spread out their aggression. Too few & they just gradually pick each other off. Process of elimination.
