i have a question, I'm aware of the fact how big a tank for a motoro ray, is i am already in the midst of acquiring a 180 g so please do not slam me. i have a simple question , how long can a 5 inch motoro live in a 40 gallon breeder being that its 18 inches wide thank you all so much

Honestly I don't think you are aware at all.....180 would be used as a grow out for a motoro not a 40 breeder......do you realize how large they get?....

A motoro can't live in a 40b....even if it's 5 inches the ammonia in that tank would be ridiculous

A 300 gal would be more appropriate. Using the 180 as a growout. You could prob do a mini marble male or a hystrix in a 180. But if your deadset on attempting keeping it in a 180 it may work for awhile your just gonna need fantastic filtration and frequent large WCs.

i held off on the ray and now am building a 4x4 aquarium equalling 239 gallon would that be good for life?

8x4x2... Simplest build and prob would save you the most money time and trouble anyways. Less cuts, less hassle and easiest to comply with.
