Nice African bull! If u want another frog think about a American bullfrog, their feeding response is really impresive(saw one eat a bird once)

Thanks frank, I've lost Florida soft shells that way, I'm pretty sure he is too fat but may drop some rocks in the gap to be sure.
It's a 35g juwel rio 125, I'm heating it with an aquarium heater behind the tubs so he can't burn himself and there's a filter in there, wc every week as much as I can syphon and a full clean out every 2 months.
Seems to be doing great, he isn't as skittish when I pick him up now.
Does he look over weight?

And viper no more frogs unless it's a female pixie lol.

Very nice! I miss my ABF. I "adopted" him from my roommate when he moved. I had ZERO experience, knowledge, or interest in Frogs at the time. We named him Mbenga as we were watching a Laker game at the time. He lived for 8 years. He was quite fun to feed and he had more personality than I thought a frog could ever have. Some times, he would let me refill his water bowl without a hassel and then there were days where he was just in a bad mood and would lung at me once I opened the top. I was feeding him Canadian Nightcrawlers, Crickets, and thawed Rodents. I let him hibernate during the winter months. Unfortunately, he didn't wake up from his last hibernation.

Mostly he just sits looking menacing tho tbh!-)
He is quite chill as long as he knows it's my hand, I still pick him up although he has gone for me a few times but I think he is just confused.

Amphibians have poor shape recognition, which is why they get confused and bite hands,African bullfrogs are one of the few amphibians I recommend handling(not for long periods of time tho).

Tbf I only ever handle him when I have to remove him for maintenance, my advice is go in from behind, never go near the sharp end!-), he seems pretty chill once he knows it's me, calmed down alot, he was very scatty initially.
Great pet tho, highly advised!

I can think of no other animal that's such a beast! You will understand if you've kept one ...
Maybe my old black throat monitor actually but hey he needed a monster viv and was physically dangerous lol.

Yeah African bullfrogs have been known to scare leopards away. I once saw a American bullfrog take a fledgling robin, there weren't even feathers left.
