Very nice!:clap
What made you decide on not going with african cichlids?
I still have the African and plan to get the 300 for them. However, since the seller ghosted me, I had to look for another tank and found the 290 but it wider instead of longer, so not as good for the African but great for plecos, so went with that. Then while looking for the 300, I found good deals on a 150, 120, 90 low boy and a 75. So got those and set them up for the others. Now, I am still looking but also Lear I guess about plywood tank and hope to go that route and go bigger than 300.

I had 180, 250, 300 and 500 in the past. All running at the same time. I can tell you that the 300 is a good jump over the 180-200 ish standard tanks and the 500 is a huge difference over the 300 and the fish really grow fast and decreases their aggression a lot with the bigger sized tanks. Today, I'm running a 150 , 40 and 20 gal. but am ready to step up to a 400 soon. They need as much space as your pockets can give them.

I agree, I wanted something really big so bad for a reasonable cost. Don’t want to sell my kidney to find my hobby. ? They issue is the lack of space to my entrance to get anything big into the house. So at this point it either settle with a 300 or custom built something. I guess whatever comes first. If I find a 300 before I feel comfortable building a plywood tank.

Right now I have 16 tanks running. 4x 75 gallon, 125, 120, 150, 90, 290, 4x 55, 2x 40 breeder and a 60. My goal is to consolidate all of them into a few large tanks instead of all these smaller tanks.

It's always best as the big tanks are much more stable than the little ones and you also really see their natural behaviour too.

Don't settle - get the biggest aquarium you can. Stick with that 300. You''ll regret the smaller size 8-10mo later when your fish start packing on size.

I agree, I do notice the fish totally act differently when they are in the large tank vs the smaller one and I enjoy them more. I will go for the biggest I can. Tha ks

I have around 25 or more in a 220 with no problems, I have a b. rhodessi, tyrochromis nigreventer, a champ, (These are all full grown) along with 4 large 12" orechromis esculentus (talapias) with smaller 5-8" fish. I have a lot of rockwork for the smaller cichlids to hide also. A lot of them grew up together so that helps.

Thats great, than a 300 would definitely work and I don’t even of 25 fishes and they are not full grown yet.
