just a smaller version of what I've been buying for a few months but identical otherwise, I have five day old fry going in and out of one right now in a 2ft. I leave it in for the fry t pick at algae and microfauna.

Are you dead set on breeding Betta Splendens? There's plenty of other options a easy to spawn but with less awkward requirements afterwards. Another issue with them is also supplying live food small enough for after they absorb their egg sacks and become able to eat larger food items. Newly hatched brineshrimp is too large at first to yield good results. Having live cultures of vinegar eels among other things is super important for saving large numbers.
