An old neighbor of mine kept 2 cape cobras, she brought from her homeland( Africa) , one day one ate the other.
That happens.
I'm going to hang onto this one. I've been wanting to get back into keeping snakes for awhile and rat snakes have always been my favorite so it just makes sense. Maybe a yellow rat in the future. I've wanted one since I was a kid.
So its a wild one? What is the temperament like?

right on, keep us updated...I'm still playing with the notion of getting one...I have the enclosure built in my head as we speak.

Yes it's wild. It was actually very docile when I picked it up. No aggression.
That is soooooo cool.

There are VERY few native snakes i would pickup. I actually found a native eggeater when i was on a farm, after poking it with the end of the airrifle and seeing no fangs i picked it up. Aggressive little bugger but he had no teeth that i could feel. He went to the nearest bush :D
