can peacock bass be a single fish

I've kept 8x 15"-20" bass in a 300gal tank for a while. Along with 5x 12"-15" in a 180gal tank. They did fine for years. At the end of it the basses final home was a 8'x30"x30" tank.
thats a huge tank for a single peacock bass, a tank of that size can easily accommodate a few more fish, is there a specific reason as why u would like to only keep one? budget? worried of fights?

if you are planning to grow them from young all the way to adults and what kind of filtration system you are using ( due to bioload, peacocks are heavy eaters) if you are running a sump tank i would say u can even go up to 8 full adults, i personally am grooming from young a batch of 20, (currently 5") in my 5 x 2 x 2 ft, i will start to weed out the weaker not so nice looking ones and transfer them into another tank or sell them. If you are running a canister then please do not use my advise as i only am familiar with sump setups.
bottom line. for a 6x2.5 x3 ft the size is not an issue as the fish can easily turn and swim, but bioload would be ur main factor in decided how many pieces.
