I saw this catfish while diving in Grand Cenote, about 100 miles Southwest of Cancun. There were several of them around this root mass. Technically, they were in the cavern zone (within sight of daylight) but I was told they are found in the cave section occasionaly as well. Length is about 8".

Thanks, it looks like the right one for sure, at least if their (planetcatfish's) I.D.'s are correct. There are a couple phots taken in the same area. I think my photos (stills images?) are better than the underwater shots they have, I might try to figure out how to submit them.
