im sorry everyone i havent had internet for a little while.
Pics will be coming tonight i promise.
Overall the hybrids are both around six months old now.
We have had two full healthy batches from these.
Flowerhorn x Convict:
The line that i have bought will be expected to top off
around 6 inches total length.
They are completely banded as a normal convict (black)
but have speckling throughout the entire body, both male
and female do.
Interesting enough no males will develop their hump.
Females tend to look no different then a normal convict,
except they grow much larger.
We retain almost completely their convict genes.
Now we have 5 total adults currently and all five
can not be kept with convicts, it does not matter
the size of convict.
Another interesting personality: All pairs
will eat their babies, we have only been successful
when removing the parents even before the eggs have
hatched.
As for aggressiveness goes these guys are terrible monsters.
We can only keep our hybrids alone inside of their pairs.
If we put anything with them small enough they will eat or kill almost
anything smaller then them, and when we put into our larger tanks with
our large adults, they have always been completely picked on even when
no aggression is present in that tank before hand.
when i say large adults i mean our: 10'' JD's, (4) 10'' Red Devil
pair, (2) Jag pair, (4) Flowerhorn pair.
Its honestly as if no other (pure) cichlids will tolerate them
and to my opinion they lack any parental guidelines.
Once again I will post pics tonight for sure
