Our new tank is cycling, last details:

-hoping to add anubias, how do you get it to grow on the rock? If already potted, should it just be gravel? Can potted plants negatively affect the tank? WhT if they die?

-imagitarium rock ALL safe for the fish?
They have a variety of aquascaping kits, “turtle” river rock, dragon rock, etc Thinking this is about the right size:
River Rock
Light River Rock
Imagitarium: Aquascaping set
Imagiterium Niko Set

-is it realistic to think I can put some smaller river rock JUST under the pleico hide? will bare bottom tank under his hide be ok or too uncomfortable?
Just under pleico hide?

-nixed sand and smaller gravel, anything else for burrowing you might suggest? Trying to keep the bottom easy to clean, easy to move/switch up to keep them entertained, and safe as possible for our potentially gravel eating Goldie...

-how long would you guess to make sure they are good in their new tank before adding a tank mate- a month?

-best tank mate ??
120gallon, 18x60x24
Fluval fx6 400g/925 GPh
Also has sponge filter, air stone, 2 heaters
LED lights -in process of replacing as started flicker after being dropped :(
Temp 74, ph7, have hard water.
ONLY fish are my Sailfin pleico & a mixed common goldfish (fast eater-so wouldn’t be good w/someone slower). His tale is a bit more fancy than a standard common so we think he’s one of the >300+ other breeds.
*aqadvisor.com puts us at 48% stocked so we should be able to add at least 1 buddy and keep <80%*

I want our goldfish to hopefully be able to school with his new bud and I’m general keep them from getting bored and make their new home a happy place. Potted plants are easy to move NYTimes: Fish Depression is No Joke

Pic of our new tank (it’s just started
Cycling)
-River rock along the bottom (was careful to buy from aquarium specialty store/nothing to affect pH God willing) and some silk plants. Picture shows gravel in bowls -that isNOT staying it’s just some of our current gravel to help get the cycle going and plan to remove it.

If the stones were purchased from your LFS then they should be aquarium safe.
You can also test any dry stone and rocks by doing a test with White Vinegar. If non of the rocks don't fizzle then safe to use.
Anubias can be tied to stones but the plants rhyzome can not be buried in substrate or the rhyzome will rot.

Gold spot? Thank you for the identify. He was a rescue and already several years old -do you think he’s stunted at this point or will grow that large?
