It's David and Goliath. I can't believe these Daffodil fry not only survive, but slowly take over the community tank . The parents are successful in patrolling the territory, and the fry instinctively stay close to the caves. From time to time, I have to thin out the juvies to restore space for other fish. There are small and big predatory fish in this tank such as Leulup, neolamprologus elongatus, Malawii peacocks and Malawii pike cichlid, but I have never observed predatory behavior of the giant tankmates towards the fry.

My father bred two families of daffodil in his Malawi/Tangy tank. The fry stay around the caves and their parents (and other daffodils in the tank) keep the tropheus, fronts, and peacocks at bay
