Thanks to everyone.

Gravel is called Red Flint. Its River gravel collected from up by glacier run off. It is strained to a size of 1/16 - 3/16 of an inch.
Small fine gravel is my preference to sand. Just by their behavior I know my rays are much more content with it and the drifwood.
