Anyone faced with the same or similar issue? I don't have a fully planted tank but it has few stalks of anubias in there and my fish constantly nips holes in the leaves and even clips off some of the stems (get floating leaves all the time).. Any ideas why this might be occurring? Is it just gardening or what lol.. Thanks in advance mfk.

What fish do you have in the tank?

And yea I have had that problem lots before, but usually for me it is boosters fish ripping up stems.
Although I have had a pleco that developed the liking to eat anubias stems.

If your fish are herbivores , or even certain cichlid species will destroy plants.

Its definitely not a herbivore, its a black piranha aka ruby red spilo or serra maculatus.

So which one is it..?
Are you feeding it properly?

I stated aka rrs or mac whichever you want to call it. I feed every other day. I guess hunger can play a role?

If I missed a RBP feeding, I would always find nips in my anubias plants. Could be a hunger issue.

That is a very interesting observation kev. Thanks for the insight. I should definitely see if I should up the feeding frequency.
