what worked for me was feeding them twice a day. ill do massivores for the first meal then cichlid bio gold+ for the second meal. I keep the warm temp warm and I do water changes every week. my fronts are massive now. been doing this routine for a month now and they grew alot. ill post pics later
Oh, old thread. Good, then I don't have to explain how WAY wrong the post was that said feed them high fiber and low protein. If you know ANYTHING about cyphotilapia, you know that post couldn't have been more wrong.
Also, keeping the water as clean as possible, i have found, is the key to fast growth along with a good diet. Do a small (10-15%) water change twice a week
It's ok to revive an old thread. It's a good question.
I don't think Cyphotilapia are slow growers for starters. You can get them to four inches in six to eight months. I guess everyone wants those killer trailers that the alpha gets. It'll take a few years for those.
I always like to encourage people to enjoy the fry and juvie stages. Everyone these days wants instant gratification. Probably sell them off the next time a shinny new toy shows up on ur Facebook feed.
