Was away all weekend came in Sunday afternoon and found eggs. They've only been together 1 week. Hulk doesn't tolerate any tankmates but when I introduced the rose queen they started dancing immediately. Few dozen eggs already showing the black dots. They're housed alone in a spare 55 I have

Lots of white eggs, some clear ones and a lot of brownish ones with black dots. We'll see what happens

Congratz! Can't wait to see how the fry turn out. The male is a cyanoguttatus right? My female Mammon has been dropping massive amounts of eggs but has no male. I was thinking of grabbing a Carpintis and trying my hand at breeding them.

Thanks....not sure exactly what the male is. I had a thread asking for opinions and got many different possibilities. Hope to get some nice looking fry from these two

Update...........came home and saw nothing but white eggs and beginning stages of fungus. Went to do a water change and when I moved the clay plant holders I noticed about 20-30 free swimming fry. Setting up a 20 gallon long with a sponge filter and will transfer the fry in a week

Well you got yourself a breeding pair now! Wait did you recently buy this fish there was a guy who was selling this exact fish on here.

Beautiful pair. Red Texas maybe the outcome of this

Thanks for the compliment. Lol I was the guy selling the Texas but when nobody wanted him I decided to keep him and attempt a breeding project. Found a female purple rose queen and they hit it off immediately. Can wait to see the outcome of these fry

Congratz again. Don't know why this thread hasn't gotten more responses, I personally see a lot of potential for the fry. By the way I've been giving your "Texas" some thought. I think it maybe a Cyno hybrid. The bare section on Hulks face and the fact that his black spots along his lateral line seem to be framed with blue much like a flowerhorn lead me to believe hybrid. While the size and disrtibution of the spots lead me toward him having Cyno blood. Which is what makes me very curious what the fry will turn out like. Who knows what genetics are lurking in Hulk?
