Here's a great educational read for everyone. 33 Endlis and 27 Senegalus specimens from Lake Chad were studied and examined for their stomach contents in this ecology report. The field study was carried out in the months of September and October in 2003.

Thank you for posting that. Interesting to read about our fish in the wild. I was surprised at the average lengths of both the endi and Sen groups. I would have thought there would have been some larger specimens in the group esp the endis

Perhaps it had something to do with the september/October months regarding the smaller sizes caught in the report. Where did all the monster endli sizes go? Just speculation, but due to the high demand of the ornamental trade. Also, the fact that these scientists required heavy assistance and cooperation from local fishermans. I suspect the end destination for larger sized was to our aquariums or human consumption. Just a hunch. I could be wrong of course.
